What we hold, and why

Last updated 11 August 2026

ORRISVEIL is a small school and holds a correspondingly small amount of personal data. This page says plainly what that is. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected] and ask.

What we collect

Only what you send us, and only through email. There is no contact form on this site, no account to create, no newsletter signup and no online checkout.

  • Enquiry correspondence — your name, email address and whatever you write in your message.
  • Course lists — if you take a place, your name and email on the list for that course, plus any dietary or allergy note you choose to tell us.
  • Archived formulas — the formula you write during a course is filed here under your name, so it can be remade or continued later.
  • Payment records — held by our bank and card processor, not by us. We keep the invoice, which Belgian tax law requires us to retain for seven years.

What we do not do

  • No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising cookies. This site sets no cookies of its own.
  • No mailing list. We will not write to you about anything other than the enquiry or course you contacted us about.
  • We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing.

Fonts and third parties

The typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts. When your browser loads them, your IP address is transmitted to Google — this happens on any site using that service, and it happens before you interact with anything here. We use it because self-hosting these particular faces is licence-restricted. If this concerns you, a content blocker will prevent it and the site will fall back to system fonts and remain fully readable.

The photographs are served by Pexels for the same practical reason, with the same consequence for your IP address.

How long we keep things

  • Enquiries that do not become bookings — deleted after twelve months.
  • Course lists — deleted twelve months after the course ends.
  • Archived formulas — kept indefinitely, because people come back for them years later. Ask and we will destroy yours.
  • Invoices — seven years, as required.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within thirty days, usually much sooner. You may also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données) if you think we have handled your data badly.

Legal basis

We process enquiry and course data to perform a contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering one. Invoice retention is a legal obligation. The formula archive is kept on the basis of legitimate interest, which you can object to at any time.

Changes

If this page changes materially we will update the date at the top. There is no version history to consult, because there has been nothing worth versioning.
